IN HONOR OF GREAT EDUCATORS
This scholarship is given to recognize the educational contributions of Mary Helen Kennebrew and Theresa Wright Castilla. Both of these women were lifelong educators in academic and spiritual settings.
ONE YEAR SCHOLARSHIP WORTH $1,000
Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded each academic year. If an applicant is chosen for the award, the funds will be dispersed once the awardee submits his/her fall class schedule to MTS Fund Committee.
THE CRITERIA
All applicants must be an active member of the Church of Christ (Holiness) USA for at least one year. The applicant must demonstrate a Christian lifestyle. The applicant must be entering their first year of higher education and must attend a historically black college or university (HBCU) or Mississippi State University.
THE APPLICATION
The application includes 4 sections – Personal Information, Church & Volunteer Involvement, High School & College Information, and Recommendation From for 2 parties - a COCHUSA member AND a non-COCHUSA member. The omission or deviation of any of the listed criteria and/or documentation will result in an incomplete application and will not be considered for the scholarship.
THE DEADLINE
The deadline to apply for this scholarship is June 30.
